Japan’s sacred mountain, seen properly. This full-day excursion leaves Tokyo early to reach Mt. Fuji’s Fifth Station (2,300 m) before the midday cloud, then descends to Hakone for the classic lake-and-ropeway circuit.
Itinerary
Coach from Tokyo with an English-speaking guide, weather-permitting ascent to the Fifth Station, lunch near Lake Kawaguchi, then the Lake Ashi pirate-ship cruise and the Hakone Ropeway over the volcanic Owakudani valley — where on clear days Fuji fills the horizon. Return to Tokyo by coach or, on selected departures, by shinkansen from Odawara.

Good to know
Fifth Station access is weather-dependent, especially December–March; the itinerary substitutes the Fuji Visitor Center when the road is closed. Bring a warm layer year-round — it is 10°C cooler at altitude.
